World Health Assembly: Joining discussions about global digital health

The Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, on 21–30 May. This is one of the world’s most important events for discussing the future of health. D-tree is excited to join the discussions on the sidelines of the assembly and contribute to the debate on how digital solutions can strengthen health systems and save lives worldwide.

Devex CheckUp @WHA Day 1, 24 May, Intercontinental Hotel Geneva

This year, Devex is bringing its annual global health technology and innovation summit Prescription for Progress from Silicon Valley to Geneva for a closer look at the policy, partnerships, and funding strategy necessary to accelerate progress on global health goals.

The first day includes interesting talks, such as:

  • A health minister’s rethink on health systems
  • Metting the health needs of women and girls in every phase of life
  • Time to step up the fight: the next era of HIV/AIDS advocacy

Towards a global health data governance framework, 6-7 pm, Intercontinental Hotel, Geneva

This event is organized by Transform Health and the Ministries of Health in Sri Lanka, India and Maldives. It aims to build support for a global health data governance framework that is underpinned by equity and rights-based principles and advocate for the importance of this being developed through an inclusive process.

From hype to health: digital solutions that deliver value, 25 May, 11-12 pm, Intercontinental Hotel Geneva

Hosted Devex in partnership with Medtronic LABS, this side event looks at what’s needed to break down barriers to digital health systems on the African continent. It also looks at the role of community-based health solutions as a driver for better patient outcomes and targeted care.

Digital Transformation Insights and Learnings, 25 May, 10-12 am, Global Health Campus

We are excited to have our very own CEO, Riccardo Lampariello, as part of this important panel discussion about recent digital health research and initiatives and recommendations for how insights can be used to accelerate health outcomes.

Global Digital Health Monitor: Launch, 25 May, 2-5 pm, Global Health Campus

The Global Digital Health Index (GDHI) has expanded in scope and vision. To better reflect the tool’s value in providing a platform to monitor digital health progress at the country, regional and global levels, GDHI is changing its name to the Global Digital Health Monitor (GDHM) and is being relaunched during this year’s World Health Assembly. During this session, we will look at version 2 of the Global Digital Health Monitor and presents digital health trends based on the over 50 countries represented on the platform thus far.
